Young children who go to Empowering Kids Academy get the tools and support they need for their healthy development. All activities are carefully designed to adequately nurture the emotional, intellectual and physical growth of our kids. Through stimulating activities and hands-on learning opportunities, children are free to develop into bright young minds. We ensure the children learn and grow in what we like to call a "yes" space! We form a collective approach to learning and provide a Reggio, Waldorf & Montessori inspired environment.

WHO ARE WE?

Empowering Kids Academy is located off 156th and Maple in Omaha, NE. We recently relocated and expanded our in-home childcare program into a small, family orientated childcare & preschool center.

We see the need for high quality childcare that is affordable and flexible. Our goal is to mimic the same personal, hands-on relationships parents seek with an in-home and apply it to a larger space where kiddos have access to an indoor kids gym we call the KIDSCAVE!! Our one of a kind "Zen Space" which houses our beautiful children's library upon entry. Designated areas specifically designed for children to discover art, sensory and science experiences. Cozy spaces for theater, music, arts, creative expression and yoga. Teachers with Bachelors degrees in ECE for our Preschool and PreK programs. Special visitors that lead various activities such as basketball, soccer, dance, yoga, music, art, cheerleading and much more.

OUR MISSION

We are a small, family-owned childcare center that values close relationships and community. Our mission is to provide high-quality childcare in a play-based, child-centered philosophy. Our high education and curriculum standards are met through exploration and play. We provide an environment for children to develop a sense of the world around them through inquiry, exploration, interaction and problem solving.  With this model we can foster independence, curiosity and confidence in children. Children have an innate understanding and passion for play, and it is our job to use those opportunities to teach in an environment that naturally and holistically meets them where they are at. We provide more than just childcare. We pride ourself in relationship building, community and most importantly showing genuine love and passion for our kids.

MEET THE OWNER/DIRECTOR

My name is Aspen Kouri, I am so glad you have taken the time to discover my program and all we have to offer here at EKA!  Empowering Kids Academy started in 2017 with the idea of empowering kids to be their best through nurturing, acceptance, love and passion. Our program truly started with the idea of wanting to use my skills, expertise in the field and education to change kids' life. Four years later, I have proudly accomplished everything I could have imagined plus more!  With my team of dedicated teachers we are empowering kids to the next level by welcoming you to our sense of place where children can freely explore and learn in the environment they deserve. Some refer to us as kids paradise! I promise to be actively involved each and every day with our growth and provide the same care and expectations I would want for my own son. I look forward to connecting and welcoming you to our family!
